Tôi đã ở Hàn Quốc được gần nửa năm và đây là lần thứ tư tôi đến xứ sở kim chi. Tôi đã có đủ các trải nghiệm cá nhân, cái tốt và cả cái chưa tốt, xấu nơi đây. Đối với những người chưa từng đến Hàn Quốc có thể vẻ đẹp Hàn làm cho mắt họ bị che "mờ" (Mà thật đúng, Hàn Quốc là một đất nước rất đẹp), nhưng đằng sau những cánh cửa đóng khít chứa đựng những cái không đẹp. Cũng giống như các đất nước khác, có cái tốt và cái xấu. Không có một đất nước hoàn hảo. Vì thế, tôi muốn chia sẽ với mọi người 10 điều tôi thích và ghét về Hàn Quốc, theo cảm xúc và không tuân theo một trật tự nhất định nào (Chủ yếu là cho Seoul)

I’ve been in Korea for almost half a year now and this is also my fourth time coming to Korea. I’ve had my ups and downs here from personal experiences. For most people who have not been to Korea before may be blinded by all the beauty of Korea (which is true, Korea is a very beautiful country), but behind closed doors lie the things that aren’t so beautiful. Like other countries, there are good things and bad things about a country. There is no perfect country. So I would like to share with you some of my personal experiences of the 10 things I love and hate about Korea, in no particular order.

(Note: Mostly applies to Seoul, Korea)

10 điều tôi thích - 10 Things I love about Korea

1. Công nghệ cao - High Technology.

Công nghệ ở Hàn Quốc phát triển ngoạn mục đến mức khó tin. Từ tốc độ Internet siêu nhanh, đến màn hình trạm tay của các bản đồ xe buýt, và thực đơn bằng máy tính bảng ở các quán cafe. Với tất cả công nghệ cao này, nó thật sự làm tôi cảm thấy Anh Quốc đi đằng sau Hàn Quốc 50 năm

The technology in South Korea is incredible. Everything from super high speed internet, to touch screen bus stop maps, to tablet menus in coffee shops. With all this high technology, it really makes me feel that UK is 50 years behind.

2. Wifi miễn phí ở mọi nơi - Free WiFi everywhere

Wifi miễn phí ở mọi nơi, từ quán cafe, nhà hàng, xe điện ngầm, đến rất nhiều tòa nhà và thậm chí ở trên một số con đường. Bạn có thể sử dụng điện thoại mà không phải trả phí Internet hàng tháng.

WiFi hotspots are everywhere. You can technically use a phone in Korea without paying a monthly fee for internet since the hotspots are literally right there for you to use for free. They’re available in coffee shops, restaurants, subways, trains and pretty much in any building. Sometimes you can even find free WiFi on the street.

3. Hệ thống xe điện ngầm sạch và chất lượng/đáng tin tưởng -Clean and reliable underground (subway) systems

Có Tivi, cung cấp điều chỉnh nhiệt độ, và ghế ngồi "nóng, ấm áp" vào mùa đông.

I can’t stress enough how clean and reliable the subway systems are in Seoul, especially coming from London. Its also outfitted with TVs and are climate controlled. It also provides toasty, heated seats in the winter.

4. Taxi hạng sang - Navigator in every taxi

When I first hopped in a cab in Korea, I thought I was in a premium taxi, only because of the built in TV screen/navigating system.

5. Phương tiện vận chuyển công cộng  - Public transportation
Rẻ, tiện, và thời gian chờ đợi ngắn

Public transport is comparatively cheap. Its also reliable and convenient with short waiting time.

6. Cửa hàng và cửa hàng tiện lời có mặt ở mọi nơi mọi lúc 24/7 - Convenience

Convenience stores or corner shops are everywhere. You can literally find a dozen corner shops on the street, all of which are operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are even open on public holidays, such as Christmas, Lunar New Years and Korean Thanksgiving.  As mentioned above, WiFi is everywhere. Also, bus stops and subway stations very close by. Things are generally within walking distance and if not, then just hop on the public transport. Due to Korea’s small land, you can pretty much cover more area just by walking.

7. Low crime rate
Tỷ lệ tội phạm thấp

The crime rate is considerable lower than most countries in the world.

8. Lịch sử lâu đời và thú vị - History

Korea has a long and interesting history. Over the last 2,000 years the Korean peninsula has been wrecked by eight major invasions and countless smaller wars and incursions. South Korea’s recent history is one of amazing progress. Annexed by Japan early in the 20th century, and ravaged by World War II and the Korean War, South Korea lapsed into military dictatorship for decades. Over the past 50 years, after the Korean War, South Korea went from making rice paddies to high company buildings, such as Samsung.

9. Các lễ hội - Festivals
Các lễ hội vẫn được tiếp tục diễn ra, và vì thế (du khách...) luôn có cái gì đó để làm (tham dự) và làm cho Hàn Quốc là một nơi đáng sống.

Korean national and local festivals that have been continued among Korean people throughout its long history. Korean traditional festivals are largely based on its agricultural rituals and myths. With all these festivals going on, there’s always something to do and it truly makes Korea much more enjoyable to live in.

10. Ẩm thực - Food
Thức ăn ngon và tốt cho sức khỏe so với thức ăn phương Tây

You can’t go wrong with the food here. The food is absolutely delicious, and not to mention that its also healthier than western food.
