1/ One day a rabbit was taking a walk when it met a turtle walking slowly

어느 날 토끼가 산책을 하고 있는데 느릿느릿 걸어가고 있는 거북이를 만났어요

Một hôm một con thỏ đang dạo bước thì gặp một con rùa đang chầm chậm đi bộ.

어느 날 = Một hôm

느릿느릿 = chầm chậm, chậm chạp



2/ Rabit said, "Hey turtle, if you walk that slowly, when would you be able to go home? Can you go home in today? hahaha"

토끼가 말했어요, "거북아, 그렇게 느리게 걸어오면 언제 집에 갈 수 있겠니? 오늘 중으로

갈 수는 있는거야? 하하하"

Con thỏ nói: "Này, cậu rùa, nếu cậu đi (bộ về ) chậm thế thì khi nào mới có thể đi về đến nhà? Trong hôm nay có thể về đến nhà không? Hahaha"






3/ "Pff, I'm not slow, if i walk hard, i can go anywhere," said by the turtle offended by words of rabbit.

"흥, 난 느리지 않아, 열심히 걸어가면 어디든지 갈 수 있다고." 토끼의 말에 기분이 상한

거북이가 말했어요.



"Hừm, Tớ không chậm chạp, nếu tớ nỗ lực (cố gắng đi), tớ có thể đi bất cứ nơi đâu" - Con rùa bị xúc phạm bởi lời nói của con thỏ đáp.


느리다 - Chậm chạp


4/ "Haha, you said youre not slow? Then why don't we have a running match to the top of that mountain?" 

"How about granting one wish of winning side?" 

"하하, 느리지 않다고? 그럼 나랑 저 산꼭대기까지 달리기 시합 한번 할까? 이기는 쪽 소

원을 들어주는 게 어때?"


" Haha, Cậu nói cậu không chậm à? Vậy thì Cậu và tớ tại sao không (thử) một lần thi chạy lên đỉnh núi đó?
Và Ban cho bên thắng cuộc một điều ước, thế nào?


산꼭대기 = Đỉnh núi
달리기 시합 = Thi chạy

이기는 쪽 = Bên thắng cuộc

소원을 들어주다 grant wish


5/ Rabit offered a running match in order to make fun of the turtle.

토끼가 거북이를 놀려 주려고 달리기 시합을 하자고 했어요.

Con thỏ đã nói với con rùa (đề nghị) thi chạy để đùa giỡn/trêu ghẹo con rùa


Ghi chú: 토끼는 거북이한테 달리기 시합을 하자고 했어요

= 토끼는 거북이한테 말했어요 + 달리기 시합을 하자


놀려 주려고 = 놀려 주기 위해서



6/ "Okay! Why not?" said by turtle

"그래 좋아! 어디 한번 해보자" 거북이가 말했어요

"Được rồi, tốt! Hãy thử thi một lần nào" Con rùa nói.

Ghi chú:
어디 is to emphasize 한번 해보자
Why dont I try!

to give confidence and energy and cheer to yourself when youre about to do something
it doesnt mean Where in this case
it is only used with the word '한번'

7/ 'Hm(Well), I can do, I can do it ma (ma like vietnamese ma at the end of sentences)' turtle talked to himself

'흠, 난 할 수 있어, 할 수 있다구(=있다고)' 거북이가 혼잣말로 얘기했어요

"Hừm, Mình có thể làm được, có thể làm được mà" - Con rùa tự nói.

Ghi chú: 얘기 = 이야기


8/ With the start sound, rabbit ran forward.

출발 소리와 함께 토끼가 앞으로 달려 나갔어요.

Cùng với tiếng xuất phát, con thỏ đã chạy nhanh về phía trước


9/ "Hurray! Let's run! Hey come catch me up turtle"

"얏호! 어디 달려보자! 자 따라와봐 거북아." (-봐 : -보다 : - xem thu)

" Hoan hô! Hãy (thử) chạy nào. Thử đuổi theo bắt tớ nào, rùa"

따라오다 = Đuổi theo


10/ Rabbit ran with getting excited

토끼가 신이 나서 달려 나갔어요

Con thỏ hứng lên và chạy về phái trước



11/ Slow turtle was surprised by running rabit, but he recovered his mind and went forward again

느린 거북이는 달려나가는 토끼를 보고 놀랐지만, 정신을 차리고 다시 걸어 나갔어요.

Con rùa chậm chập ngạc nhiên/kinh ngạc nhìn con thỏ đang chạy về phía trước, nhưng rồi lấy lại tinh thần và đi về phía trước

• 정신을 차리다 = Lấy lại tinh thần

놀라다

12/ "Yo-heave-ho"
"영차 영차"

"Yo-ho, Yo-ho" (Tự nói và tự cổ vũ chính mình)

영차영차 when you slowly do smth with putting your effort like leading some heavy stuff



13/ Turtle also ran forward with all his strength

거북이도 힘껏 앞으로 나갔어요.

Con rùa cũng cố hết sức lực mình đi về phía trước



14/ As looking at the turtle coming slowly from back, rabbit chortled.

느리게 뒤에서 오고 있는 거북이를 보면서 토끼는 깔깔거리며 웃었어요

Nhìn con rùa chậm chạp đang đến từ phía sau, con thỏ cười nắc nẻ



15/ "Haha didn't I say? haha"

"하하 거보라구 하하"

"Haha Chẳng phải ta đã nói sao haha"

거보라구 meaning is Didnt i say? As I said you failed!/did something poorly!
Used when you tease somebody



16/ However, turtle did his best and went forward

하지만, 거북이는 최선을 다해 앞으로 나갔어요

Tuy nhiên, con rùa gắng hết sức và đi về phía trước

최선을 다하다 try best = Gắng hết sức


17/ "Yo-heave-ho, I can do it"

"영차 영차, 난 할 수 있어."

"Yo-ho, Yo-ho, Mình có thể làm được"



18/ Rabbit who went ahead for some time, looked back.

한참을 앞서 나가던 토끼가 뒤를 보았어요

Con thỏ đã dẫn trước và bỏ lại con rùa một khoảng, nhìn lại


Ghi chú:

 한참 long period of time or long distance

앞서 나가다 run/work.. very well so your position in running/working.. is higher or greater than others



19/ As turtle wasnt in his sight, then rabbit said. 

거북이가 보이지 않자 토끼가 말했어요

Vì con rùa không ở trong tầm nhìn, con thỏ nói


Ghi chú:
infinitive : 보이다

보다 look 보이다 seem/appear

보이다 means something is in your eyesight

멀리 있을 때는 글씨가 잘 안 보였는데, 이제는 잘 보인다

I couldnt see the letters well when it was far, but now i can see well

배가 보인다. I see a ship (A ship is in my eyesight)

so 보이다 is not an active verb. just things go to be in your sight, and you dont try to look at something



20/ "Hehe, now he isn't seen at all. as I said, he cant beat me."

"헤헤, 이젠 보이지도 않는군. 역시 나한테는 안된다니깐."

"Hehe, bây giờ chẳng thấy ở đâu nữa cả. Đúng như mình đã nói/đoán, cậu ta không thể nào đánh bại mình"

Ghi chú:
보이지 않는군  not in my sight
보이지도 않는군 emphasize

그 사람은 이번에도 역시 1등을 했어요

He got first grade this time as well (as i expected)

나한테는 안됩니다 this is an idiom
안되다 means cant/  not ....

but that idiom means (Since I'm better at this than you) You cant beat me about this matter
 when it comes to example
그 사람이 아무리 열심히 공부해도 나한테는 안돼요
However hard he studies, he can't beat me kaka






21/ "He is so slow, and he dared to think he could beat me? haha"

"그렇게 느려서 어떻게 나를 이기려구 하하"

Hắn quá chậm, làm sao mà hắn có thể đánh bại được mình haha!


Ghi chú:
이기려구 = 이기려고

infinitive: 이기다

well..... i can say this phrase is omitted :

어떻게 나를 이기려고 <- 어떻게 나를 이기려고 하는지 모르겠다

I dont know how he is going to beat me (because i'm sure he cant beat me)

그렇게 느려서 어떻게 나를 이기려구
= 어떻게 나를 이기려고
= 그렇게 느려서 어떻게 나를 이기려고 하는지 도저히 모르겠다 

I don't know how he is going to beat me at all because he is so slow



22/ Excited rabbit looked around, and saw a shadow under a big tree.

신이 난 토끼가 주위를 보니 큰 나무 밑에 그늘이 보였어요

Con thỏ hứng khởi/hăm hở nhìn xung quanh và thấy một bóng râm dưới một cái cây lớn

Ghi chú:
신나다 -> 신이 나다 (emphasize)

그늘 : shadow made by a tree or building or something else so that you can avoid sunlight: Bóng râm

infinitive : 보다 신이 난 토끼가 주위를 보았어요 + 그랬더니 큰 나무 밑에 그늘이 보였어요.
a result of something you have done
열심히 공부하니 100점을 받았어요 I studied hard, by doing this I got 100 points




23/ "Ah, as it is hot, I'm going to take a rest here"

"아 날도 더운데 여기서 좀 쉬었다 가야겠다"

(Trời nóng vậy, phải nghỉ ngơi (ở đây) chút đã) (?)

Ghi chú:
날도 더운데 it is differnet from 'because'

힘든데 조금만 쉬었다 가요 (Lets take a rest a bit, since i'm tired)

제가 배가 고픈데 음식점에 가면 안될까요?

손이 아픈데 조금만 쉬면 안돼요?

24/ Rabbit who lied down under the tree shadow felt sleepy.

나무 그늘 밑에 누운 토끼는 졸음이 왔어요.

Con thỏ nằm dưới bóng râm của cái cây và cơn buồn ngủ đến

Ghi chú:
졸음이 오다 sleepiness comes to you
like an idiom,  졸음이 오다 = sleepy

but subtle nuance difference  between 졸리다 and 졸음이 오다

졸리다 like you feel sleepy from yourself
졸음이 오다 like 졸음(sleepiness) comes to you from outside
your eyes are closing because youre sleepy
and you would yawn as well

so, the step before sleeping 

눕다 lie down => 누운

눕다 누웠다 누울 것이다 누워요



25/ "Ah~ why don't I take a nap?"

"아~ 낮잠이나 잘까"


After some time, rabbit started to sleep ZZZZ.
토끼는 조금 이따가 쿨쿨 자기 시작했어요

"Yo-heave-ho"
"영차 영차"

While rabbit is taking a nap, turtle walked forward hard without taking a rest.
토끼가 낮잠을 자는 동안, 거북이는 쉬지 않고 열심히 앞으로 걸어 나갔어요

"I can do it! Yo-heave-ho"
"난 할 수 있어! 영차 영차!"

Turtle who walked for a long time just saw rabbit taking a nap.
한참을 걸어온 거북이는 마침 낮잠을 자고 있는 토끼를 보았어요.

"Uh, he's sleeping here."
"어, 여기서 잠을 자고 있네"

"hm, he said to have a running match and now he's sleeping, I better go hard."
"흠, 달리기 시합을 하자고 하면서 자고 있군, 난 열심히 가야겠다."

After seeing rabbit taknig a nap, turtle started to go forward again.
낮잠을 자는 토끼를 보고는, 거북이는 다시 앞으로 가기 시작했어요.

Turtle also wanted to take a rest because he was tired, but he went forward to the final point, which isn't too far from there.
거북이도 힘들어서 쉬고 싶었지만 얼마 남지 않은 결승점을 향해 걸어 나갔어요.

"Yo-heave-ho, I should do harder to beat rabbit."
"영차, 토끼를 이기려면 더욱 열심히 해야겠어."

He saw the final point in front of turtle walking hard.
열심히 걸어가고 있는 거북이의 앞에 드디어 결승점이 보였어요.

"Haha, now i almost arrived, it is the final point!"
"하하, 이제 거의 다 왔구나, 결승점이야."

"I would be able to beat him if i go a bit more."
"조금만 가면 이길 수 있겠다."

"Haaam(yawning sound), I slept very well"
"하암, 잘 잤다."

Rabbit woke up after taking a deep nap
토끼가 낮잠을 푹 자고 일어났어요.

"What, what's that, turtle is almost at the final point."
"헉(used when youre surprised. like Hic in vn), 저게 뭐지, 거북이가 결승점에 거의 다 갔잖아"

Rabbit who was waking up from nap was very surprised seeing turtle who almost arrived at the final point.
낮잠을 자고 일어나던 토끼가 결승점에 거의 다 도착한 거북이를 보고 크게 놀랐어요

"Congratulations, turtle"
"축하해, 거북아"

"Yeah, congrats, you beat rabbit."
"맞아 축하해, 너가 토끼를 이겼어."

Other animal friends in the forest congratulated turtle who arrived at the final point.
결승점에 도착한 거북이를 다른 숲속 동물 친구들이 축하해주었어요."

"haha, thanks friends"
"하하, 고마워 친구들아"

At this time, surprised rabbit arrived at the final point hurriedly.
이 때 놀란 토끼가 허겁지겁 결승점에 도착했어요

Rabbit, who arrived late, was hiding behind because he was ashamed.
늦게 도착한 토끼가 창피해서 뒤에 숨어 있었어요

Turtle said seeing rabbit doing this.
그런 토끼를 보고 거북이가 말했어요

"It's ok rabbit, come here play together"
"토끼야 괜찮아, 이리 와서 같이 놀자"

"You could beat if you didn't take a nap. Rabbit youre better at running."
"네가 낮잠만 안 잤어도 이길 수 있었어. 달리기는 토끼 네가 훨씬 잘하잖니."

Rabbit felt very sorry to turtle saying like that
토끼는 그렇게 말하는 거북이에게 너무 미안했어요

"Sorry turtle I'm afraid I made fun of you too much. From next time we can be close friends, right?(phai khong?) "
"미안해 거북아 내가 너를 너무 놀린 것 같아. 다음부터는 우리 친한 친구가 될 수 있는거지?"

After then, they became very close friends and lived well
이후로 둘은 아주 친한 친구가 되어 지냈답니다. (지내다 means live (+spend time) (with somebody)
